![]() HOPEFULLY they will add function to this. ![]() It allows you to switch between the 2 channels and on/off of the non reverb Effect. Press and Hold the boost on/off, boost pot then is NG off left half of rotation, on, right half.Įxisting Footswitch is "not ready' for live time. Turning the Noise gate on and off is even less intuitive. Otherwise, for a lot of MIDI pedals, you'll have a switch for each bank/preset you need, I THINK I can set an action on my Morningstar, to increment with each tap of a switch. a PC# for Banl 1 Preset A, another for Bank 1 preset 2, etc. Even then, it's done via Program Changes, where there is only a seperate OC # for each bank/preset combination. BUT, I didn't pay attention, the 60 watt version only does MIDI over USB, So need a TRS to USB adapter. Can via MIDI, I'll explore that with my Morningstar. No way with EXISTING foot switch to do it. And of course once switched, no way to know what bank you are on, unless you hold down the manual button. You have to hold down the Manual button, then use the Amp model select to change the bank. But changing it via the amp is anything but easy. But there are 6 banks of those for 6 'versions of 2 channels. There are no ways (I have found yet) to save global parameters for when using the amp in Manual Mode. Katana's individual LEDs for each selection is so much better. It's diffuse, and for older eyes it obscures the amp model name. Amp models are written around that The lit circle glows brighter on the one you have selected. The amp model selection knob uses a lit circle around it. They are too close for the amp stand arms to go between them, and are placed such that only a 1/4" sits on the amp stand arms. ![]() The feet are both large in circumference and they are place badly when using and amp stand. ![]() I read this on the Line 6 forums from an EE who took one apart and also measured it myself. This wouldn't be SO bad, but it's kind of small. The aim of this is to more compare it with the Katana, in tone, function, and my opinion on use cases what I like and don't. There is a bunch of them out there that you can read and watch. I won't do a big review on features et al. Also, unlike the Katana 50, which is missing several on the amp knobs, and a bunch of things on the back, like an FX loop, the Catlyst 60 has all the same stuff as the 100 and 200, except the 5 pin MIDI in. B it's about the same size as my Katana 100 Mk2. And they all 3 had 1 each of the 100 and 200, on the floor. Local Guitar Centers 2 had one 60, one of which was on the floor. After selling it and going with the Fender, I ended up spending even more to buy a pedal board because I missed the effects I had in the Katana, but the cleans of the Fender were too irresistible.Another hard to find item.Sweetwater has none yet. The Katana had everything I needed at the time to play gigs and get many sounds. The Katana was the best amp I had ever owned, UNTIL I was bit by the tube bug and bought the Deville. **disclaimer: I HAD a Katana 100 2x12 and really liked it, but ended up selling it off to buy a Fender Deville 2x12. You don't NEED them, but they are nice to have. The software that comes with it is just icing on the cake, access to way more effects that you can import. The Katana has plenty of onboard effect features already built in that you can access really easily. However I disagree that you ever need to plug your Katana into a computer. I agree with this post that the GAFC foot controller is a must with the Katana 100 and I would endorse that amp over the Blackstar series mentioned above.
